Health in My Hands
A free prevention class and a health coach who helps you get the screenings and HPV vaccine you’re due for.
Prevention you can act on
Health in My Hands (Salud en Mis Manos) is a breast and cervical cancer prevention program developed by UTHealth Houston and funded by the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). Community health workers teach a prevention class in English or Spanish — in person, by phone, or online.
After the class, a health coach follows up to help remove whatever is standing in the way of getting a mammogram, a Pap or HPV test, or the HPV vaccine, and helps schedule low-cost or free appointments. Limited funding is available to cover screenings and HPV vaccination for women who are unable to pay.
